What is a Diode? What are the functions, types and identitys of diode? : -

In today's post, we are going to give you detailed information about the working and identification of diode diode.

In this post you will learn the circuit of diode, working mechanism of diode, types of diode, how to identify diode,

Working mechanism of anode and cathode diode : -

Signal Diode , Light Emitting Diode , Rectifier Diode , Zener Diode , Verector Diode , Hot Carrier Diode , Will provide information about Photo Sensitive Diode and Tunnel Diode.

If the diode is installed in any circuit, then it is denoted by the English word "D".

Diode is a semiconductor component made by mixing P and N type material.

The P type part has holes and the N type part has extra electrons. The place where P type and N type meet is called the depletion region. In a diode, the P type end is called the anode and the N type end is called the cathode.

To check any diode with a multimeter, if both the probes of the multimeter are put on both ends of the diode (+,-) then it shows shot and by changing both the probes (-, +) then it shows open then diode Correct

Diodes are generally black cylindrical. It has two ends, it is represented in the circuit by the capital letter D or sometimes by V. Diodes are distributed according to the number.

Diode works in two ways  : -

The first either allows the current to pass through itself or the second prevents the current from passing through itself.

What is the biasing of a diode  : -

When negative voltage is given to the anode of the diode, it blocks the voltage, so it is called reverse biasing.

But when positive voltage is given to the anode and negative voltage to the cathode, the voltage flows from one side to the other. This action is called forward biasing of the diode.

If you want to understand in simple words: – When the diode gives positive voltage on the negative cathode and negative voltage on the positive anode, that diode does not pass the voltage. In contrast, positive on positive and negative on negative passes only voltage. For this reason, it is used to protect the circuit and make DC current from AC current.

Types of Diodes  : -

Different types of diodes are made for different types of work, their design is also different. like : -

1:-Signal Diode Signal Diode

2:-Light Emitting Diode Light Emitting Diode

3:-Rectifier Diode Rectifier Diode

4:-Zener Diode Zener Diode

5:-Verector Diode Verector Diode

6:-Hot Carrier Diode Hot Carrier Diode

7:-Photo Sensitive Diode Photo Sensitive Diode

8-Tunnel Diode Tunnel Diode

Diode is connected in any circuit then it is denoted by "D". Diode is a semiconductor component which is made by mixing P and N type of material.

The P type end has holes and the N type end has extra electrons. The place where P type and N type meet is called the depletion region. In diode P type end is called anode and N type end is called cathode.
